Healthix is one of the nation's largest public health information exchanges (HIE) and adds an additional 20 million individuals from thousands of providers across New York City and Long Island, further enriching the data sources currently available through MIB EHR.

MIB EHR streamlines the life insurance buying experience by providing insurers with fully electronic, applicant-authorized medical information for life insurance underwriting, shaving weeks from the current medical record retrieval process. Only 59 percent of Americans have life insurance, and about half of those are underinsured. MIB EHR simplifies and accelerates the buying experience so consumers can apply for valuable life insurance protection more easily — powered by additional real-time data available through Healthix — and receive a faster decision from MIB member companies. MIB's market depth, its secure technologies, and deep expertise of applicant-authorized data processes make it ideally suited as the life insurance industry's single-point distributor for electronic health data.
